VW's 507.00 oil is very low ash which helps extend the life of the DPF, I don't know how the additive packs are different from other low ash oils though. I will clarify these points in the section 507.00 engine oil required for VW TDI and Audi TDI with DPF filters in the FAQ article.

In addition, I think a DPF shortens the lifespan of a diesel due to the higher thermal load due to the restriction in the exhaust. It apparently dilutes the oil and causes issues with the internals. I believe even bio produces PM, which is the main reason for the DPF.
