Mathews was SIGNIFICANTLY quieter than the Hoyt. I would guess it was 25-30% quieter, which is massive. Back Wall. The Mathews has an amazing back wall. There is hardly any creep and it’s very solid. The Hoyt has a very spongy back wall. For that reason, Mathews wins this category. I did not chrono either of them as there is plenty of info out there on where these bows come in speed wise. The consensus is that the Mathews is 3-5 fps faster than the Hoyt. Lift 33. Mathews is a GREAT bow, but most guys that shoot both; walk out with the Hoyt. Hoyt is consistently faster real life set ups too - if that matters to you. Let the wand pick the wizard...

If you have a V3X like me, I personally wouldn’t buy a Phase 4. It would be cheaper to add limb dampeners between the limbs or buy an adjustable stab, like the crossover stabs on my V3X. If you don’t have a Phase 4, it is one of the top 2 bows Ive shot this year. The Hoyt VTM 31 and Phase 4 29 are still the top of the class in my opinion.

These are both 65lbs limb sets with the exact same component sets on both. The Hoyt RX7 Ultra 34 is a great bow and is definitely a step up from the Mathews VXR 28. The Hoyt RX7 has a much smoother draw, and it is also longer and more forgiving. The bow has only a quick bump in the grip at the shot, with no detectable vibration. One of the RX-4’s many outstanding qualities is its excellent balance at rest, full draw and after the shot. The draw cycle is firm, with no abrupt transitions for a consistent experience, and the Custom-Tune grip is comfortable and functional.
