durango 2018: intermittent problem with rotary shifter. I noted a minor problem more than once when I went from Park to Reverse and the transmission did no engage and the engine revved while not pulling a trailer. I put it in Drive and then back to Reverse and it would engage and function normally. I subsequently had a major problem.
Keep in mind, that if the battery has gone dead, been unhooked, replaced, etc. some of the codes may have cleared. Start with the ignition key at the off position. 12/15/2016-** PROB SOLVED **** STARTER KEEPS CRANKING ISSUE / ***** I drive 2008 Dodge Nitro 3.7 ** Had same issue, starter kept cranking, had to try 2 or 3 times to turn over. I went to my mechanic late Friday, did a few tests and my Fuel Pump needed replaced. The new pump installed yesterday and, no more issues.The car ran great for many starts, then at lunch today it cranked for a moment then started and died. On subsequent start pushes it cranked for maybe 3sec and stopped. After doing an OFF/ACC/RUN cycle it started perfectly. Ran over to the Dodge dealer and they scanned the same B2122 code.The problem is the coil has intermittent problems when hot and a voltage test will not identify it when cold.
