Heartland Animal Shelter is a 501(c)(3) non-profit whose mission is to provide excellent and life-saving care to the most vulnerable dogs and cats until we find them good homes. Through progressive programs, outreach, and collaborative partnerships, we also work to keep all companion animals with their families.A provision in your will or estate plan of a planned gift to BrightSide for the care and adoption of your pets will guarantee their safety in your absence and long full lives. Make sure your pet is taken care of in case they outlive you. We will help create a plan to find them a loving home.At BrightSide, we are committed to our high-save mission. That means we do everything we possibly can to find a home for each animal. It means that euthanasia is a last resort only when necessary to relieve suffering, or because an animal’s behavior problems are so incorrigible he or she is a danger to the community. BrightSide is a high-save shelter dedicated to providing sheltering, placement and prevention services to reduce animal homelessness and unnecessary euthanasia. We believe that every animal that enters through our back receiving door deserves the chance to leave through our front door with a secure future.
