Edit2: after watching more videos it looks like there is a pinch sensor :(. But I hope someone can tell me if it has been improved to help stop or slow down corrosion. I have had the litter robot 2 and am using the litter robot 3 for a few years now. But the thing I hate most are the sensors. Specifically the pinch sensor and bonnet sensor.

After posts saying the Litter Robot 4 wasn't safe, with the pinch detectors failing, I investigated and found the circumstances where it could happen. This video shows you when it can happen, the actual risks and what Whisker are doing about it. To add, the sensor is two $.01 pieces of plated metal that get litter basically dumped on them with every cycle. So they corrode / get dirty and give tons of false pinch alerts. Sometimes the pinch alert requires a full unplug to reset. I kept finding my LR stuck upside down, leading the cats to find other places to do their messes.
