Is charles daly a good shotgun.
I have owned several Miroku Daly shotguns. The operative word is B.C. Miroku. They make good guns now and when i got mf first one in the late 60's. Still use a superior grade skeet in 12 gauge on occasion. The Miroku Dalys were well made, hand engraved, but their trigger system ( sic: spring) left me non-plussed with frequent breakage.
Retailing less $300, I find the Charles Daly 601 reliable, fast handling, effective, and a solid choice for home defense. The pattern the shotgun is built on is simple enough with a good reputation. LOGIN.Yes, the Miroku 500 is a gun of good quality. The Charles Daly Miroku guns are good. My hunting buddy had a Miroku 500 in 12 gauge. Nice gun. I doubt you will find a better 20 gauge in the same price range. Parts might be a problem if it breaks. But there is little chance of that if it is treated right.IMHO they are an exception to the you get what you pay for rule. And that rule is usually not broken. CD produced these guns to sell for 1,200-1,300. A shotgun at that price did not fit in with the inexpensive guns that the final iteration of Charles Daly was selling. They sold them off to CDNN. And we got a deal, a quality Italian O/U for cheap.
