Hasta will be better than nerfed fang. Tent whip will be like 10% better than that. I wouldn't feel too committed to the grind. Took me over 1400kc for ultor, so 150kc could be barely started. I got to 1700kc pre fang nerf without ultor. (i was using fang slash / scythe below 30% hp).
