N3 vs m1 shocks.
Shock differences. I'm looking to upgrade the stock suspension on my 1st gen tundra to some rough countries but I noticed that they have a couple of options between N3 shocks all around, N3 in front with v2 in the rear, and m1 all around. I like to load the bed with my atv every once in a while and I take my truck on trails frequently.
Easier to get rid of them if they are new, quite hard to sell used shocks. I have the Rough Country 4” springs going under my BJ42. I have had Bilstein 5100 in my FJ Cruiser, they were ok, but the rear ones leaked every winter at the coldest time. I had the same reaction when I installed the M1 struts and shocks on my '07 F150. After one camping weekend on rough roads and approx. 500 miles of freeway driving, they have settled in nicely. I have approx. 5K miles on the new suspension, and my truck rides great down the road with 37 Mickey Thompsons Baja AT and a 8" lift.

Shocks that I tried: RE Bilstein 5100, RS5000X (highly regarded in here), Fox, and the RS9000XL. The RS9000XL came the closest to not feeling like a meat wagon. The RE Bilstein 5100 and Fox shocks had much less uptravel than the Rancho shocks. The RS9000XL had the most balanced amount of available shock travel.
