I cycled the cartridge out, it ejected fine, with the bullet intact.Guess what, the lower half of the bolt interferes with the hammer strike. This expierment was done on a 1949 336RC, it came without crossbolt, no trigger block, only half cock and two piece pin. I replaced the two piece with a one piece. When the bolt was between 1/8th and 1/16th back it would not ignite the primer but it would leave a slight dent.
