Is the sig sp2022 discontinued.
The model would probably have been discontinued a few years ago except for the fact that Sig fell into a contract to sell a large pile of them to the French Government. The contract required that Sig guarantee they would support the contract for twenty years - ergo the model name was changed to be the sp2022 (contract runs 2002 - 2022).
Now discontinued by factory it will get even harder! I'm going to price these per plate and move them out! ... Grip # 000003 was extra. SIG's 2012 catalogue states (paraphrase) "smaller grip included" with gun. This would lead one to believe that the higher the number, the smaller the grip. Or maybe mine was reversed.Numrich has listed 2 different levers under the SP2022, and while they shouldn't be considered the utmost authority, it calls into question the possibility that a lever intended for a 9mm may have a longer engagement "lug" to interact with a 9mm follower, and it may get "influenced" by the "larger" diameter .40 S&W cartridge.
