I one tricked ryze top, but with the minion aggro update its actually just too hard in some matchups now. I'm having a hard time finding ryze viable at all right now, but he is specifically worse after that aggro update. Like many have said, this is actually more manageable top lane. Ryze is a simbol of battlemage, ap dps. Of course, Ryze has been used as a supporter on top lane with tank itmes in 2013 ~ 2014. However, the other whole history of Ryze was a simbol of late game ap dps. Unlike Cassiopea and Azir, the other ap dps mages, Ryze does not have to worry about aiming.
