Don't forget if they should ever make a PC client it must work for every country that PGR has already been released. That's a lot of work and not easy to deal with.
I only had the black screen problem and followed the steps from their FAQ. Closed the launcher, set the PGR.exe to run at Win8 compatibility mode using admin permit. And it worked fine afterwards. Can't tell about the checking files issue, it's also mentioned in their FAQ. Hope you can get your PC-client running soon!
