The sears and roebuck 300 isn't the best gun ever, but you can hunt with it and shoot sporting clays with it. the model 300 will do fine until you can get the $1000-$1700 gun. heck you might end up liking the model 300 and end up not getting a new gun. The book says the Ithaca 900 was made by SKB and is more-or-less the same thing as SKB Models XL900, XL900MR, 100, 1300, and 1900 and Ithaca model 300. There must have been some small differences between all those models, but they are so close that the same assembly/disassembly instructions apply to all of them. I'm a dyslexic agnostic insomniac.
