Personally, I feel like the strongest hitting attacks (like Enhancement Field and Ink Bomb) are more likely to be strong with just straight added damage, since the Tinkerer has a great toolkit of unique tools (and I feel like blurring the line would get boring and redundant).

Remove two of the -1 cards. Replace a -1 card with a +1 card. Add two +1 cards and then one +3 card.By comparison, Brute gets a non-loss attack 5 +1xp at like lvl 3 or 4. As soon as you get to lvl 2 monsters and everything has shield, Tinkerer can't touch them, and doing 1 or 2 dmg a round is not helping. You can kill things, but only with loss cards, so you exhaust after killing 3 or 4 creatures.
