The thing that tripped me is you have to use the emulator to initiate the scan at the ATM. Use the real controller to walk up to the ATM and then use the emulator to navigate the menus. Late to the party but i use two programs and 1 nfc card. Tagmo to write the amiibo using their database. And then an app called "Tag Writer" from NXP to erase the data on the card to reuse it.
