And, since this is a very big area, Mother Gothel will also give you the precise directions you need to take there to get to the Old Bones. These directions are: left, right, then another left. So make your way to the mines at the Sunlit Plateau.

Hi y'all! I'm doing the 'The Sunstone Fragments' quest for Mother Gothel, and for the life of me I cannot find the Dawn Fragment in the Sunlit Plateau. I've checked at 9, 10 and 11am these past few days, both before and after the update, and it just isn't there (I've even looked at guides to make sure I was looking in the right place).
Unfortunately, parts of the Sunlit Plateau are blocked by giant bones that you cannot destroy. I am stuck on mother Gothel's sunstone fragment quest. I found the midday and evening one, but the one I'm supposed to find in the morning doesn't exist. It should be in the Sunlit plateau, I looked up exactly where it's supposed to appear too. It will appear on the southeastern side of the river of the Plateau toward the bottom corner, as shown in the map above. You should see an orange Dawn Fragment appear in this area.It should appear anytime between midnight and 11am. It should appear just south of the center point of the Sunlit Plateau near the river (just north of the orb pillar). So if you've got any houses or decor there it may not spawn correctly. I had moved Scar's house to that location and had to relocate it and reload my game for the fragment to spawn.
