The 1864 has the Sundstrand pump and same case as a Super. The last one of those that I did was last week and it took less than 2 gals. more like 7qts.

For the IH and MTD Cub Cadet transaxles, the official Cub Cadet repair manual says the recommended oil to use is Hy-Tran B-6, Hy-Tran PLUS (MS-1207), Hy-Tran ULTRA or equivalent.
