You just need to make sure the NAT network address of your comcast LAN interface doesn’t overlap the NAT network address of your new router’s LAN interface. So if the LAN network on your comcast router is 10.10.1.0/24, then make the LAN interface of your new router’s 192.168.100.0/24. Double NAT (should) just work.

I've tested the same before, bridge mode, reboot, and actually used the Xfinity speedtest, fast.com, and speedtest.net, all three show a max of 600Mbit after swapping it. Re-testing now with the site provided, a max of 685 down and 41 up, (which still seems like it's an artificial limit, since it won't go past it).
