Make sure Cemu opens in desktop mode, then in desktop mode "install" the game and DLC by clicking on the meta files. "Load" the game in Cemu and make sure it runs in desktop mode. Switch to game mode and it should work! That's the overview of how I did it. 1.

for BOTW Cemu is still best. thanks ill check it out. Yuzu has an early access version that supposedly has amazingly improved performance, making the Switch version of BotW actually playable on the Deck. I haven't tried it personally, but my news feed has been blowing up with it the past week or so. I'd look into that.
The "Steam virtual controller" setting isn't there, and my wiiu gamepad settings seem to be broken now too. I can't update any of the field for input. Set frames to 60fps refresh rate to 60 . set a manual GPU clock, some games like 1200 others are okay with this off. Half shaders, can work either way as well. I like my yuzu setting to have accuracy to high and works better if resolution is set to 1.0x even if not docked. Any lower and seems to stutter in some games.
