Most of the boats you mentioned (jones, eastern, maritime, parker SE) are low deadrise boats (12 - 14 degrees). These boats will drift well but will pound you in any kind of a chop. By the way, all excellent boats and well constructed and all have a serious and well deserved following.

Owned a 23 Seacraft after that! The Sea Ox is very well built, very solid! It is not really a rough weather boat and had a tendency to pound in any real seas.You can buy the fuel line hose at most autoparts places (I got mine at Salvo) and the bungee is sold in bulk at tractor supply, BoatUS, or almost anyplace they sell rope off a spool.

Yes they are oily so you should fillet them (you can leave the skin on) a little salt and pepper and roll them in yellow corn meal, fry in Crisco to golden brown and drain on a paper towel.
