Light fittings are usually just bare bulbs, and there are no curtain rails, blind fittings etc. Allow time on moving day to put curtains/blinds up in the bedrooms you will use. There will be 'snags'. Make sure you report anything to the builder asap.

Whalley range, Chorlton, withington, Stretford, Urmston etc would be better for schools. In chorlton, stretford, urmston (ie Trafford area) you would also be in catchment for grammar schools. Quote.

Look elsewhere. Torquay is expensive, exclusive, and not a pleasant area in which to live. The council don't care about the residents, or the town, and the wealth divide causes serious social problems. The schools are good though, particularly the grammars and Shiphay primary. Quote.

Stafford has expanded rapidly over the last 20 years (as has everywhere) and has its problems. Transport through town and into town is slow at peak times and roads get gridlocked. There are plenty of back routes though! You are in the middle of the main road/ train lines M6/ fast train to London.

It’s fine, basically. It’s next to Bromley which is a much more desirable area and houses there go for much more money so you won’t make as much on your property, but it’s all relative. Primary schools around there are excellent, good children’s centres too. Secondaries not so much. Culturally diverse community.

The most desirable places to live are in the villages. Certainly not in central Chesham, except in the old part around Germain Steeet. Chesham is wholly different to Amersham. Amersham on the Hill is Metroland. Built around the station. It’s a popular place to live and has some sought after primary schools.

Those that do probably have the salary to match. Our house is worth £700k but we have increased the monthly payments to around £4k so we can pay off the mortgage in 10 years.
