For weapons you mostly want to focus on stuff that gives bonuses to whichever skills youre using, the rype matters less. For pets, Necromancer, Occultist and Shaman are the 3 classes. OK forget Inquisitor builds then. Soldier/Demo should work OK. You can tie rifles into Fire Strike, and also get a Soldier combat skill other than Cadence, in case you feel the urge to do melee. Or just pump up Soldier defensive skills and take Fire Strike and another Demo attack form.
