In fact, depending on the age of your 6610, it may not have a steering box, but an orbit motor. Change the filter, fill the reservoir, cycle the steering a couple times and refill the reservoir. My Ford 6600 is used for cutting and baling hay. I was cutting yesterday and took a five minute break and when I got back in the tractor, the PTO did not want to engage. It finally did, but it seemed balky. Once engaged, it worked perfectly. Is this an adjustment problem in the lever or could it be a sign of something more serious?

Leaks on top of the pump won't cause slobber from the exhaust. If the engine has been apart recently, it shouldn't be too big of a deal to pull the hood and exhaust manifold. That will tell you which cylinders are wet/dry. Not always easy to tell whether it's fuel or oil at this point. W.
