I would have them check the driver's-side temperature blend door & actuator, for a binding or broken condition. (Most likey sticking). During the past few months, in my 2017 Fusion SE 2.0L with 28k miles, various interior controls stopped working intermittently: climate control buttons, touch screen, seat memory, window switches, audio controls.
